What a week!

What a week indeed! Maggie is going through something. I don't know what. I wish I knew how to get the voice memo off my phone and put it on here so you could hear her crying and having a fit that went along with these photos. I haven't posted anything in a week because this is pretty much what it's been. She is getting her 4 canine teeth at the same time - which can't be pleasant. And she woke up several times last week in the night with night terrors and was flailing all over her crib, wouldn't let me hold her, just was unhappy. So I left her in her crib to flail and scream. And she did that for over an hour each time.

This particular day she was just screaming and crying and wanted her "buleenky". So she was under the buleenky walking around, bumping into things and crying some more. Then she got smarter and started walking around with a hole to see out of.

And of course she couldn't throw her fit without an audience so she kept looking out from under her buleenky to make sure I was there. She didn't expect a camera to be in her face here. That was most every day last week. I was just plain tired come the end of the week. Then on Friday my friend asked me to come to her house to pick her raspberries. Who is going to turn down raspberries??!! So off I went with my kids. Maggie just ended her week fabulously! She was playing with the sliding doors on the van and shut her thumb in it. She wasn't pleased about that. Then I had taken the double stroller out of the van for her to sit in. She likes to sit in it for some reason. Just sit. Well, I wasn't watching her and she tried to climb up the back of the stroller with no one in the front. No one in the front means no weight to keep it down. No weight to keep it down means Maggie fell backwards, hitting her head on the stones on the driveway and had a double jogging stroller on top of her. Bad week... But I got a BUNCH of raspberries!!!!

One night last week Scott got me out of bed to look at this really gross spider that was building a web in front of our house. It was a HUGE web! ICK!
This weekend was General Conference. We went to Scott's parents on Sunday. Conference weekend always gets me in the mood for Christmas. And of course since we were pulling out of our street and saw the mountain tops covered in snow I feel like pulling out the Christmas music! I doubt that will fly though.

While we were at his parent's house I was called into the kitchen to see what Dallin had done. **SIDEBAR** My little neice doesn't say Maggie's full name correctly. She says it "Magulena". It is very cute. So now Dallin and his little friends call her Magulena too. **SIDEBAR DONE** I went into the kitchen and Dallin had ALL BY HIMSELF found the magnetic letters for her name! Isn't he a genius!!!???This is typically the stance by Sunday afternoon. This is being posted to ensure that Lulu doesn't get called as the General Relief Society President anytime soon! heheheheeee

We have these refineries close to our home. When Dallin was smaller he would look for them everytime we got on the freeway. He loved to look for the fires. Then when he was learning to count we would count them. He has lost interest in the for a long time but now there are lots of cranes in them and now he is interested in them again.

Now Maggie is interested in them. We were going to or coming home from the fair (this was shortly after her birthday and birthday cake) and she was blowing. We were trying to figure out why and looked in the direction that she was looking. She was trying to BLOW OUT THE CANDLES!It was absolutely hilarious! She has done it a few times since then too!

So now we are starting a new week. And I HOPE it really is a new week! I would really like to have a few days this week where she doesn't cry all the time! I guess we shall see. So far it's great! Oh that's right... she isn't up yet.

SNL's Debbie Downer

Debbie Downer @ Yahoo! Video

Ok.. I LOVE Debbie Downer! She cracks me up! I think I saw this on Kevin from tx's blog and we have been joking that Scott is very much like her. Then Scott sent this link from listoftheday.blogspot.com and this was on it. So I am putting it on our blog!

I think my favorite is that they can't keep a straight face! I am sitting here watching it again and just crying because I am laughing so hard! Do you think they knew what she was going to say before she said it? I think the "It's official..." comment that the guy sitting next to her looks as though he had no clue what she was going to say!!!!

Dallin's First Primary Program

We had our ward primary program today. That is when the young kids get up in front of everyone and strut their stuff! They sing songs and give the parts that they have learned. Dallin is a Sunbeam now and so he was able to participate in the program this year. Doesn't he look so handsome in his new suit and tie??? He didn't have a speaking part but did know some of the songs that were sung. Mostly he just hung on the stage thing up front and swung around. Oh - and he signed I love you to me several times. That was adorable!

There's just nothing like hearing 70 kids singing their hearts out for their parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles! It was really sweet.

I just don't like that my snuggling baby boy is growing up!

My Monkey

So I really need to start this post off with letting you know that I have 2 scrapbooks full of pictures of Dallin's growing up first 3 or 4 years. But Maggie only has less than 1 book. Why you might ask? Because I have given up scrapbook for blogging. I realize that A LOT of my posts are about my daughter - BUT Dallin will have 2 scrapbooks to take with him if he chooses when he leaves home.

Having clarified that... I also want to tell you how incredibly strong Maggie is! She really has incredible upper body and abdominal strength! Dallin, Sam and Thomas (the new 3 musketeers - or the 3 stooges - it's still up in the air) were in the basement playing and Maggie was outside being the loner she tends to be... I looked out in the yard to make sure she was ok and this is what I see.
So I ran to get the camera. It's a little hard to see because I was taking pictures through the screen so I wouldn't let her know I was photographing her. Otherwise she would want to see the pictures on the camera and stop doing whatever it is that she is doing.

But here she heard the camera and looked at me.
So I went outside and told her to do it again. So she climbed up on the stroller... (Now why these pictures are fuzzy I don't know... Operator error I guess)

Pulled her legs up...
Gets her legs up there....
Tried to get her bum up there but just missed it....
Then she got mad and screamed and wouldn't try again. Typical.

Do you think she is going to be in the circus when she grows up???

Fall and Friends

This is going to be a post about multiple things. I can't believe that fall is here. Of course today doesn't FEEL like fall. It's 85 degrees out here. BUT... lots of fall things are going on.

Dallin started pre-school again. This is his last year before I have to let him go to kindergarten. I don't know if I am ready for that. But he has been playing with his little friends a lot more. Beautiful fall-ish days tend to lead to that. They trade houses a couple of times a day. This week one day they were in our back yard...

Here is Maggie and her friend Gracie.
Maggie has been a loner today as Dallin is over at a friends. I really ought to be using this time to clean my nasty floor after all this canning... But NO... I am editing pictures and blogging!!!

She must have gotten a sour bite.
We have an apple tree in our back yard that didn't produce very much last year, but this year is producing a TON! We picked 4 buckets yesterday and there is at least 2 probably 3 more buckets on the tree left. The kids keep wanting apples. They are kind of sour. So there are a few bites taken out and then they are left to rot in my yard... This is a typical sight..
I was picking apples and found this baby lady bug! It was so cute!
Here are the kids in the back helping me pick apples...

Here is some of what I have canned this year. It's not all as I have shared or given away some of it...

Apple Pie Filling, apple slices and apple butter:

Pears

Salsa - This does not include the 1st or 2nd batch. This is just the 3rd.
It's nothing compared to what my sister in law has done. But I am also a one woman show! And I don't have 7 apple trees.

I am a little sad to see summer leave us. But I do LOVE fall. And not just because it's my BIRTHDAY!!!! (hint hint) I just love the changing colors, the cool nights and the cooler days.

Another couple of funnies that my kids say... They are really polite kids most of the time!

Dallin: Mom, May I have these lookers to find veHICles that I can blow up? (Lookers are binoculars)

I love the May I to go along with the blow up at the end... and the annunciation of the word ve-HIC-les.....
***************
Maggie: Sowwy Sowwy Sowwy Sowwy....

Anytime someone says Ow or gets sad she says it. It's so cute!

And last but not least... Do you have a preference on your bacon? I have a preference of crispy bacon. I don't like the fatty stuff on it. So on the rare occasion that I actually cook bacon... I usually make it crisp. The other night we had pancakes and bacon for dinner. Dallin was eating it and said, "Why is it so crispy?" I said, "Because I like it crispy." He said, "I like it soft. Like Connie makes it." SO - I guess my son likes soft bacon... I never even thought to ask him his opinion on bacon!

JUMP JUMP JUMP

These are the words of my little girl everyday during naptime. She rarely naps, which is really difficult for me after my little boy was SUCH a great napper!! Although she does get to spend about 2 hours in her crib daily. She is just usually tearing off her clothes and diaper and jumping in her crib. I will be surprised if this crib makes it through her. She will jump on it for hours. I just hear the squeaking of the mattress giving under her tiny 24 pounds...

So I went in to get her a few days ago and just HAD to get some pictures!!!

I LOVE THE HAIR!!!!!!!

And I love how she says in her cute little voice, "Jump jump jump jump jump" as she is jumping...

Also - Another Dallin-ism from yesterday:

D: Mom, when am I going to turn 5?

Me: In a couple of months.

D: How many?

Me: In 5 months.

D: 5 is NOT a couple mom!

Me: What do you mean?

D: A couple is 2 or 3!!!

When did he get so smart??!!!??!!!

Ripped

My son is cracking me up lately with the things that he is saying!

I started running yesterday with a friend of mine. I am getting ready to leave again and D asks me why I am going running. I said that I wanted to be healthy.

He said, "When I go outside I am going to pump and pump and pump so hard that I will rip in half!"

I said, "I don't want you to rip in half!"

Dallin says, "I saw on TV that if you exercise that you will be RIPPED!"

What a crack up!
