2009 Air Show Practice

We are having an air show here at the air force base. This is one of the advantages of living 1/2 mile from the end of the runway! I must admit that most of the time I LOVE the jets! But when I am having a conversation with someone, other than myself, or if I am trying to sleep in the middle of the night and the jets are off their lunch break - it gets a little annoying.

We have had serious air traffic these past few weeks as these pilots are readying themselves for amazing stunts, twists and twirls through the air! Today we found really great spot to sit on the roof of the car and take pictures of these guys practicing for this weekend. I am amazed we didn't get told by police to move... but we didn't :)

I would LOVE to ride in one of these - but I must admit that I would be in need of an extra large barf bag.

As much as I love them - my daughter totally doesn't! She had her fingers in her ears most of the day today.

She doesn't look all that pleased, does she??

This is a series of 3 shots that I got. I am still trying to figure out the best way to get clear motion shots. Very frustrating for me to see them all blurry when I pull them up in Photoshop.

It's amazing how they twirl and fly and totally don't crash into eachother!!! They are SO close to eachother! Truly amazing!!! (The sky looks different in each of these because I was playing... they really were taken all in the same sequence. They came over my head, out and then straight up!)

Anyway - very excited for this weekend. Not sure if I will get that many better shots. Maybe. Maybe not... We shall see!

This is just a totally random shot of Maggie from this morning. She is so cute with the piano! She just sits there and plays while looking at her scrapbook. When she is done playing 1 page of her in a Halloween costume and singing about it, she will turn to the next page and sing about it.

Hopefully this will be something she loves still when I am making her take real piano lessons!!!!
