Happy Birthday Party Maggie

We had a birthday bash for Maggie today. It was quite the day. We stayed home from church because most of us felt pretty icky today. Neither Maggie nor Dallin napped. This is what we found when we went in to get Maggie after 2 hours...

She really can't be trusted alone!!! She was patting her bum saying "Poop. Poop!" Yes - It was thrown on the floor.

She definitely "got" the whole opening presents part this year. It was very fun to see her reactions to everything.

She LOVED this Barbie song card!!!

She REALLY wanted to get these pants on! It's going to be cool enough tomorrow! Maybe she can wear them then!
And she loved this this little dog!
This has to be the most pitiful looking cake I have ever made! I ran out of canned frosting so my neighbor hurry made some for me. It was the nicest thing ever! But the cake looks funny. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that it was all broken and I was trying to "glue" it back together with the frosting!!!
Dallin helped blow out the candles.
And Maggie thought it was great when they were blown out!
Happy birthday my sweet girl!!!

Utah Weather

The weather here is so very strange! Today the high is supposed to be 100. By Labor Day we are supposed to have a high of 64!!! How strange! I keep looking at the weather because we are having family over Maggie's birthday tomorrow. OF COURSE it's supposed to rain. Oh well - I guess we will just make it work.

I guess it's not actually raining MEN... but I thought the song was fun to go with this one!

And in case anyone cares, the magic erasers took off quite a bit of the marker... but I will still have to re-paint in the kitchen and the living room. I love my daughter, i love my daughter, i love my daughter....

Can't I Just Take A Shower????

SO this morning I hop in the shower... Reams has a great sale on Farrs Ice Cream and I want to run out. It's now 11 and I am still not there. Dallin was up a lot coughing. I don't know if it's allergies or a cold. So he got up and wanted to play Lego Star Wars... I figured I would let him since he had a really cruddy night while I showered to get ready.

Meanwhile Maggie is dragging chairs all over the kitchen (I can hear them while I am in the shower). I get out of the shower and Dallin - not having moved one inch from his game cube says - MOOOOOM. COME LOOK WHAT MAGGIE DID!!!

Thanks D for getting up from your game and letting me know!!!

I walk into the living room....

Then I look at her....

Please excuse the runny nose. I had just gotten out of the shower! She has it all over her belly too... (Marker - not snot)

Then I take pictures... There's really no point in losing it on her. It's done. Now we just need to clean it up. As I am taking pictures I notice that she has "painted her toenails".

I come into the kitchen to upload the photos for a blog and notice this...
SO I call my friend and while talking to her she says Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work great...

I guess we shall see. Sorry Scott - I guess I am not allowed to shower anymore. Or at least not without Maggie caged in her crib!!!

Lagoon a Beach

Saturday we went with our friends to Lagoon and Lagoon a Beach. It was so much fun! The kids loved going down the water slides! I didn't get nearly the pictures I wanted to there - but we got a few. I just get nervous with my kids around water and so I would rather watch them instead of take pictures of them... :)

Anyway - Scott was able to go down a few water slides and Lasca and I went down a few. Dallin went down one of the big ones once but Scott doesn't think that he was very pleased about it. Maybe next time.
Isn't my boy just the most handsome kid ever???

This is what happens when your friend gets a season pass to Lagoon and you don't.

I am so pale it's scary! But then again - Lasca is from Mexico... I think that she is prone to tanning a little more than I am!!! (Lasca - don't kill me for putting this picture on!)

Here is Bailey with the goggles that Dallin brought but never used! Cute...

After several hours of fun we changed clothes and went into the park. But on a Saturday - there were A LOT of people and a lot of lines... Not as much fun... But when the kids got to ride then they had fun!
I am not one bit surprised that my boy chose this particular helicopter to ride in! He loves army stuff!

Bailey is in love with Dallin. We think they are going to get married some day!
Aren't they cute???

We had Scott's nephews wedding reception to go to that night so we did. It was so nice! They served italian ice for the refreshment! It was YUMMY!!!
Then we dropped the kids off at our friend's parents house and went BACK to Lagoon for adult rides. It has been 10 years since I have been on a roller coaster. We had SO MUCH FUN!!!! I did end up going home with an upset tummy... Oh well - It was a crazy but fun day!!!

Hall Bathroom

We bought our home about 3 1/2 years ago. It needed work. A lot of work. I tried to find some pictures of it in the condition that we bought it in... but can't seem to find the pictures off the old computer. After stripping tons of pink flowered wallpaper and border off the walls and pulling pink and orange carpet off the floor, I pooped out before getting either bathroom done upstairs. So while I was in Indiana Scott finished the bathroom in our bedroom! (It's awesome too Scott!) And then this week we are finishing our hall bathroom.

The border had been up on the walls for so long that we couldn't get all the glue off. Ugly, huh???

The shower curtain I chose...
We still have to paint the ceiling, put the door back on the cabinets, light fixtures back up and the shower curtain. Oh and buy a new mirror... But that is just cosmetic stuff... Our upstairs is almost finished!!!

I do still need to get the chair rails up in both kids' rooms... but that is getting worked on too!!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

We went to the Salt Lake Bee's baseball game Saturday night! It was so much fun!! It was so funny because on Friday I was telling my friend that I wanted to take Dallin to a baseball game. Later that night another friend calls me up and asked if we would want to go because they had 4 extra tickets! WEIRD!!

As soon as we got there Christa said we had to find the balloon lady. It's this lady that makes balloons into things. Crazy weird to watch it and you expect it to pop at any second... but then they don't. Maggie got a crown with a heart...

Dallin got a stormtrooper helmet, belt and sword... Dallin and Lexi had loads of fun playing that they were in Obi Won Kanobi's spaceship. We found out that Lexi doesn't have a clue who Obi Won is... but that didn't seem to bother her!!
Maggie likes to clap with the rest of the crowd. The problem was in the beginning we were pretty much in with the visiting team. So she would be cheering for the wrong team. After a few innings though there were more Bee's fans... so we didn't feel like we would get in trouble if we cheered when we scored!Do you notice the blue fingernail polish??? Yes - Maggie has now discovered fingernail polish. I don't know if I am ready for this step in my life... I just don't know about it!

We had to go and get a picture with Bumble!
Maggie wanted to at first.... But then changed her mind before I snapped the picture. And YAE!!!! The Bee's won!!!!
After the game the kids get to run the bases. It was so cute to watch Maggie's little curls bounce up and down - until she got to first base. Then she was done. Dad carried her the rest of the way!
I think this was Dallin's favorite part of the whole night! What a fun night! Thanks Guy and Christa for inviting us!!!

County Fair

We went to the county fair tonight! It was fun! I haven't been to a fair in so long. One of my favorite songs is Chris LeDoux's County Fair (that's what you are listening to - atleast for the next day or 2 then it will be a song pertaining to THAT post!). We went with our friends Lasca, Brian and kids. We thought there would be a magic show, but it was a juggling act instead. That was fine until they brought out the knives and burning torches... UGH! My 4 year old was watching this!

My favorite thing about going to the fair is getting and eating a corn dog! YUM! I didn't remember we had the camera until after I had devoured it. So I didn't get a picture for you!

Another favorite thing about going to the fair is seeing the cute little kids in their cowboy getup! I LOVE this hat!!!

After the juggling act we went to a tent that had tarantulas, scorpions, snakes and the like. Pretty gross. But they also had this water thingy with ducks that the kids really liked.
Scott made me put this picture on. I think it's terrible. I HATE SNAKES!!!
Then we went to get the free pony rides. But there was a really big dog pooping instead. Oh well - we looked at the bunnies.
Lasca tried to get Dallin to have us buy him one. Didn't happen. Although they were very cute.

Then we thought we would ride a few rides. But we didn't want to spend the money. Poor little Maggie was dying to ride the little cars.

So we went to get some ice cream instead. The wind started blowing REALLY hard.
Then harder and harder. By the time we got to walking to our car the dirt was pelting us in the face and arms... Both Maggie and Dallin were screaming their heads off. Therefore there was dirt in their mouths too! But that isn't anything new for Maggie.
Well - we had a great time at the county fair!!!

Bottle-less: Day 3

10:45 am update:
This morning has been good. She woke up and wanted muuk. I asked her if she wanted it in a cup. She said yes. She chose a sippy cup herself. Then she actually drank about 1/4 of it. Then she ate 2 oreos and 1/2 of a pancake! While we were at Karate she drank lots of crystal light. (I know Jeremy - I am giving her Alzheimer's!)

More updates later! But I think (translation: hope) we are done with the worst part!

12:50 pm update:
I am emotionally eating all the Reese's PB cups in our house right now. Maggie is just getting into every little thing she possibly can. And even before I say it - she is saying, No Maggie. She knows better the little stinker. I think it wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't trying to study my Medical Terminology for my class. Anyway - both children are down for naps and I am going to drink a tall glass of chocolate muuk and study some more!

4:25 pm update:
She is still napping... Should I wake a sleeping grumpy baby? Or should I keep studying?? Hmmmmm... Decisions decisions....

8:00 pm update:

I think we are done with the worst of it. She certainly isn't drinking the milk she used to. But she is eating tons more than she used to. Still not a lot - but more.

Bottle-less: Day 2

Well. She didn't wake up until 9:30 and that is because I went in to get her. A soon as she takes one sip from her sippy she starts throwing up. Except its just clear because there is nothing in her tiny tummy. Now she is laying in my arms and shaking. And it is only 9:40 am. I don't think I am cut out for this!!!!

1:00 pm update:
She is down for her nap. She really likes popcorn. She has eaten quite a bit of that. Well, quite a bit for her. She is guzzling water and crystal light. But isn't touching the milk. She was outside playing for a bit so I think she is doing alright. But I do have 2 gallons of whole milk in the fridge that I suspect are going to spoil, if this keeps up!

5:00 pm update:
She has been doing ok. I gave her a piece of cheese that she wanted. I don't think she ate it, yet I can't find where she placed it... That should be a fun surprise for later! She is still downing the crystal light. But still no muuk. Everytime she sees the blog picture of her bottle yesterday she cries. Kind of funny. In a sick demented mother kind of way. She shouldn't have a totally empty tummy either. We were outside and she found a huge clump of dirt. She had it in her hand and was licking it like a popscicle. Then she was drinking water from the hose. So she should have a good combination of diseases for her 2 year appointment next month!

6:25 pm update:
Called my friend Steff making sure that the crying would end at some point. Screaming and tantrums for 35 minutes straight. She finally sat down at the table to eat a banana. But everytime I turn up my Mamma Mia cd she cries, shakes her head back and forth and says NO NO NO! hmmmm... this is a problem....

6:55 pm update:
Holy Toledo Batman!!! She handed me an empty plate that had french toast and sausage on it. THEN she drank chocolate milk out of a regular cup!!!! I gave her a few more pieces of sausage and they are gone too. HAPPINESS!!!!!

Here she is after eating dinner sucking up the rest of the popcorn bowl!!

Bottle-less

As most of you know - Maggie doesn't eat much in the way of solid food. She does however LOVE her "muuk". And she loves her bottle. I think she uses it a bit like a pacifier. She will just be sucking on it even if she isn't getting any muuk. Weeeeeeeell.... Last night we had her throw her bottles in the garbage. Needless to say - today has been VERY difficult! She won't drink muuk out of a sippy, water bottle, or regular cup. She will however, drink water out of a regular cup. She did eat lots of popcorn today. And a few macaroni's. She hasn't gone through nearly the diapers like a normal day. Now keep in mind that my baby will go through a gallon of muuk in 2 1/2 days.

At the end of day 1: Mom is almost insane with the whining and crying and trying to open the garbage so she can retrieve her bottles. Maggie keeps saying "Owwie" and I know her tummy HAS to be starving!!! People keep saying she will eat when she is hungry enough. YOU BETTER BE RIGHT!!!!!

***Edit*** For Family Night tonight we walked up to the 7-11. She does love a pina colada slurpee! At least she isn't going to be TOTALLY dehydrated.

Raccoons Like Oreos

.... But not Sour Patch Kids! My sister said that the raccoons came the night of their honeymoon and ate all the oreos off the car. There were little raccoon prints all over the car. But they didn't take even 1 Sour Patch Kid that we licked and stuck on the windows!!! Smart little buggers!!

Lynnette's Big Day - Big Post for a Big Day!

Lynnette got hitched yesterday! And what a great day it was! Her day started out at 4:15 am. She went to get her hair done. MY day didn't start until 7 am. They got married in the Jordan River Temple. It was beautiful!
And so was Lynnette...

We had some fun shots of the family...

Jeremy - we aren't in Arkansas! You didn't need the open mouth! I WISH someone would have told me to fix my hair!!
The Enz grandkids...
Steve's nieces...
Maggie of course threw a temper tantrum...

Well - a few of them actually...

There was a luncheon at a church that was really tasty! And then we went to the reception.
There was dancing....Technology these days... I tell ya!
Maggie didn't wear her shoes much yesterday... Gross!
Honest to Pete! Couldn't someone have told me to fix the hair???!!!
My mom, sister in law and I did a number for Lynnette and Steve! It was quite the show!!!!

One of my favorite parts of the video which didn't get recorded on this copy was after we were done, Dallin yells, "Hey mom!!! That was AWESOME!!!!"

***Edit*** In response to Christine's comment... we only practiced 3 times!!!

Well we are so happy to have Steve join our family! I hope he is ready for the ride!!

Speaking of ride.... my friend Lasca helped us pull this one off!

A beautiful end to a beautful day! Congrats little sis!!
