Day 3 – Mt. Rushmore Trip

***Warning**** Lots of pictures... This is for our family journal :)
This morning we decided to play at the Flintstones Campground for a bit. There is a train to ride on. We also went to Fred’s house and sat in his car.
Then to Barney’s house, a phone booth, all sorts of places in Bedrock!
Maggie wasn't very thrilled with this little ride....
Then we found a park in Bedrock! It was a blast!

This is Maggie going down a really tall slide that I thought for SURE she would crash and burn at the bottom – once again Mom has been proven wrong!

Next we went to Bear Country USA. What an awesome experience!! The rules were to keep the windows up on the car because the animals roam and you drive through to look at them. I guess they didn’t want a hungry bear to come and take a kid out of a car for lunch… I was a little sad that I couldn’t hang out the window to take pictures… just ignore the glares I couldn’t get out with Photoshop…

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. But we got the BEST show from the reindeer! They were going around and around our car. They kept bumping it. I wanted so badly to open the window and run my hand along this one’s velvety antlers.
The mountain lion was really hot. Poor guy…

These bears were the amazing! Aren’t they beautiful??
This is an albino buffalo… And a regular one...
Did you know that porcupines eat corn on the cob like we do??
This little runt of a bear cub kept picking a fight with this bigger one. They were rolling around play fighting and falling in the water. It was really cute!
After Bear Country we went on a drive in Custer State Park to look at wildlife. We saw some animals and went back to camp for dinner, playing at the park and getting ready to head home on Sunday.

What an awesome trip we had! And if you think that the hectic-ness is over… It’s not. Scott’s sister and her family from Seattle are going coming to town Sunday and we are going to Lagoon Monday with them. My baby sis is getting married in 2 ½ weeks! My parents will be coming to town, so will my brother and his family. There will be lots of getting ready for wedding stuff going on. But I think after that – we should be ready to settle down for Labor Day and fall. Has this summer just flown by or what????
